BURGMANNSHAUS

Although medieval treasures can no longer be found at Staufenberg Castle, the castle hotel offers another gem alongside the many works of art and antiques. The small half-timbered house in the shadow of the majestic castle has been home to four premium rooms of a special kind since July 2011. Not only the symbiosis of modern comfort and the ambience of the good old days, but also the exclusivity of the detached outbuilding offers the residing guests peace and secluded privacy. Simple room numbers pay no worthy tribute to the new hotel rooms, which have been named after important figures in the castle’s centuries-old history.

COUNT GOZMAR’S SUITE

This comfortable 40m² premium suite in the Burgmannshaus was named in honor of Count Gozmar. The front living room is furnished with a couch, desk and TV. Through an arch you enter the sleeping area with another TV and a wonderful double bed, which invites you to dream. The hallway connects the bedroom with the bathroom, which is equipped with a shower, WC and hairdryer. “Count Gozmar” offers maximum comfort for everyone, from couples in love to history-loving families. Due to the integrated sofa bed, this suite offers space for up to 4 people. If you need a baby crib, we will of course provide you with one free of charge. An extra bed for children aged 6 and over is available from € 38.00, breakfast is included. All rooms are non-smoking.

Gozmar III (* around 1130; † July 26, 1184 in Erfurt) was Count of Ziegenhain from 1168 to 1184 and is the builder of Staufenberg Castle in its original form.
